Enough is enough, let’s act now

MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE 6) Confetti rained down on some 9,000 anti-Arroyo rallyists, representing various militant, civil society, and Church groups, who gathered in a portion of Makati City Friday.
“Sobra na, tama na, kumilos na [Enough is enough, let’s act now],” was the theme of the protest that started at about 4 p.m.
Members of the United Opposition, the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, Partido ng Manggagawa, Gabriela, Partido ng Masa, Akbayan, and the United Church of Christ of the Philippines converged at Paseo de Roxas, near the monument of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., demanding the resignation of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo over the national broadband network controversy that has linked her husband and some of her allies to allegations of corruption.
